Baitar film and photo festival announces call for entries

The first edition of Baitar film and photo festival will kick off in the capital Tehran and some other provinces simultaneously, with special awards proposed.

The festival is sponsored by the State Veterinary Organization and several public bodies, in order to promote the culture of resistance economy and production within the veterinary industry.

Artists are encouraged to contribute in the event with their works in the above fields, so that Iran could turn into the global hub for cinematic and cultural works concerning veterinary medicine, as well as in the scientific and professional arenas.

All movies and photos relating to the subject matter or duties of the Veterinary Organization, or those building the pertinent culture and promoting health, will be welcome to participate.

The first edition of Baitar film and photo festival comprises different competition sections, including short film, documentaries, and the viewers’ choice, while the photo contest will include single, collection and sideline, as well as other non-competition sections including photo exhibit, seminars, workshops, etc. The competition will also contain the amateur and also the section specific to the Veterinary Organization.

The festival proposes 21 awards for the cinematic sector, in a variety of fields, including the “best short”, “best producer”, “best director”, “best screenplay”, “best screenwriter”, “best research-based documentary” and will celebrate the “best artistic achievement”, as well as the jury prize for “amateur works” and “works on veterinary organization”, as well as 5 awards for the best photographs.

The festival will be held October 6-9, 2017, and submission deadline is September 1, 2017.
